Peace Village Day Camp
In August 2003, an exciting program was introduced to RMC's campus. A diverse group of children met together for a week of conflict resolution education, cooperative games, nature walks, yoga, art, visits with RMC's international student community, classes on personal health and nutrition, and a story session highlighting peacemakers around the world.
Held each August in historic Alden Hall, adjacent to the Institute for Peace Studies Office, these young campers create their own t-shirts, learn about inner-peace and well-being, make new friends from different ethnic and economic backgrounds, and eat lunch on the grass under the trees while they sort through the new ideas and concepts being presented. Volunteers and professionals share their time and talents, with the Institute's Board of Advisors bringing in the lunches each day and meeting the children.
