As part of the mission of Rocky Mountain College, the communication studies program understands the importance of the professor-student relationship. We come into contact with every student at the College in our classrooms, so it is vital that we build a relationship of trust and respect with our students. Our goal is to help students become ethical citizens and prepare them for the career of their choice. A distinct advantage of a degree in communication studies is the variety of careers the student may enter. Since employers desire employees with strong communication skills, our graduates are prepared for virtually any career, including sales, human resources, public relations, journalism, the performing arts, nonprofit organizations, event planning and organizing, and a variety of careers linked to the medical and business fields. We also prepare and send students to graduate school. The versatility that comes with a degree in communication studies often leads to students who double major in our program and another that links even more closely with their chosen career path.
