Art describes his position as Ombud for Rocky as his "dream job."

"For 25 years, I have been empowering others to resolve their own conflicts through mediaton, facilitation, and a whole lot of listening. After the issues were resolved, I moved on but not any more, as the Ombud I will be able to see the results of my efforts. The Rocky community is composed of passionate and intelligent people, a combination that is an ideal environment for an Ombud Office. Rather than jumping in and directly fixing a person’s problem, an Ombud focuses on empowering conflicted individuals to be purposeful and professional as they resolve their own situations."

Art has been a professor and alternative dispute resolution professional for the past 25 years. He taught at UM Law, MBA, & Graduate School, and has been an adjunct at RMC since following his grandkids to Billings in 2008. Art earned his JD from St. Louis University and dispute resolution skills through Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University and the Harvard Program on Negotiation.
