Clete is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel. He was an aircraft maintenance officer and has worked on A-10, B-1, B-52, C-17, F-16, and KC-135 aircraft. He was commander of the 5th Maintenance Squadron composed of 270 people who performed heavy maintenance on the B-52. Professor Knaub then commanded the 740 person 28th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and was assigned control of 28 B-1 bombers. Throughout his career he has supervised thousands of people and has deployed around the world setting up flight line maintenance operations in many different locations. He brings a great deal of leadership and management experience to the academic world and believes sharing this knowledge with RMC students to be his most important responsibility and privilege.
