Freshman Applicants

  • Students must have an ACT/SAT composite score of 21/1000; AND
  • Students must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Students not meeting both of the minimum criteria listed above may be considered for admission upon providing additional supporting information. These students should submit a personal essay, stating their academic and career goals and why they believe Rocky Mountain College will facilitate those goals; AND, two (2) letters of recommendation from an academic instructor, guidance counselor, or other.

Transfer Student Applicants

  • Students who attempt 27 or more semester credits and have successfully passed a minimum of 27 that count towards RMC general education requirements or/and an RMC established major, and have a minimum of a 2.00 GPA meet the requirement for regular admission.
  • Students who attempt 27 or more semester credits and have less than 27 credits that count towards RMC general education requirements or/and an RMC established major, will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and may be required to submit additional materials.
  • Any student, regardless of number credits transferring, who has been dismissed, placed on probation, or documented as not being in good standing with any prior institution will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and may be required to submit additional materials.
  • Students who have attempted less than 27 semester credits will need to submit their college transcripts, high school transcripts and test scores to meet regular admission requirements.

International Student Applicants

Applications may be submitted at any time for consideration, but applicants should consider how much time it takes to obtain interviews for visa applications at U.S. embassies in their countries.

The following is required:

  • Completed application, including the International Student Financial Statement.
  • SAT scores, if available. (If you are an athlete, either your class rank or SAT score is required.)
  • Original or certified copies of your official academic records from secondary and, if applicable, post-secondary institutions you have attended. All documents not in English should be translated and certified as true and accurate.
  • If English is not your native language, or if English was not the language of instruction during your education, you must submit a score from a reputable test. Minimum scores for admission:
    • TOEFL paper test score: 525
    • TOEFL computer test score: 197
    • IELTS: 5.5/6
    • Graduate program admission:
      • TOEFL 570 (paper) 230 (computer);
      • IELTS: 6.5
  • Submit a one-page (500 word) essay
  • US$40 application fee

Kindly note that IELTS is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations and that TOEFL is managed by Educational Testing Service.

Home Schooled Applicants

Applicant must provide documentation of their home school education, to include the following information:

  • The educational philosophy of the home school.
  • The selection of instructional materials, curriculum, and textbooks.
  • The time, place, and method of instruction.
  • The evaluation of the home school instruction (transcript, test results, etc.)
  • Applicant must submit scores from standardized test (ACT or SAT). Students who have not completed this test on national testing date may schedule a residual ACT test at RMC. Contact Office of Admissions to schedule this.
  • Applicant may be asked to submit a personal essay (1 pg. typed) of their educational and career goals and how Rocky Mountain College might assist them in attaining these goals.
  • Applicant may be asked to provide two (2) letters of recommendation which address the candidate's ability and personal motivation to be successful at the college level.
