Black Tie Blue Jeans: November 14

Black Tie Blue Jeans

Black Tie Blue Jeans, the premier Rocky Mountain College scholarship event, will be held on campus in the Fortin Education Center. This semi-formal affair was started over a quarter of a century ago by RMC supporters who wanted to raise money for students in need of financial assistance. With over 600 attendees each year, Black Tie Blue Jeans provides opportunities to fund scholarships that will benefit current and future RMC students. Attendees will enjoy a gourmet dinner, live and silent auction items, and music.

Check out the tickets page today to reserve your table.

Candlelight Dinner: Date TBA

Candlelight Dinner When the Rocky Mountain College campus was moved to Billings in 1909, the ground was frozen and too hard to finish the buildings in time. During the fall of 1909, students took classes downtown until the buildings could be finished. In January 1910, the campus was finally ready, and students, faculty, and staff loaded hay wagons and made their way up 27th Street, along the canal, to RMC's current location. They arrived cold, tired, and hungry; when they went to the dining hall for dinner, they discovered that the electricity had not been turned on so they ate their first meal on campus by candlelight. While it was not the most pleasant meal, the students decided it was an event worth commemorating. Rocky Mountain College has celebrated the Candlelight Dinner every winter since 1910.
