Residence Hall Director
In addition to basic salary and benefits, the compensation package for this position includes on-campus living accommodations with utilities provided, meal allowance during fall and spring semester, as well as tuition remission. Benefits include health, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term disability, long-term disability insurance, and vacation and sick leave accrual benefits.
The Residence Hall Director works directly with the Director of Residence Life to create a successful and supportive residence life experience for Rocky Mountain College students. This position oversees the daily operation of an individual residence hall. This includes ensuring student safety, providing students with clean and comfortable residence hall facilities, as well as supervising student staff members. This position is responsible for providing residential students with an environment that supports academic success and opportunities for growth. In addition, the position is responsible for professional and effective communication with students, parents, staff, faculty, and members of the campus community.
This position oversees 80-180 first-year students and a staff of 4-6 resident assistants (RAs), in addition to work-study students. In order to best facilitate processes and provide students with a healthy and productive residential community, this position is a required live-in position.=
The Rocky Mountain College Office of Residence Life provides a residential experience for approximately 500 undergraduate students in four residence halls. The residence life staff is comprised of three residence directors, 21 resident assistants, and the Director of Residence Life. This position reports directly to the Director of Residence Life.
A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and two or more years of progressively responsible experience in residence life or higher education is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to community and student development; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; have working knowledge of computer applications such as CampusVue and Microsoft Office; and be able to understand and operate all electronic assessments and applications used in student life.
