Position Description

The Residence Director – Widenhouse works directly with the Director of Residence Life to create a successful and supportive residence life experience for Rocky Mountain College students. This position oversees the daily operation of Widenhouse Hall. This includes ensuring student safety, providing students with clean and comfortable residence hall facilities, as well as supervising student staff members. This position is responsible for providing residential students with an environment that supports academic success and opportunities for growth. In addition, the position is responsible for professional and effective communication with students, parents, staff, faculty, and members of the campus community.

This position oversees a building of 180 first-year students and a staff of six resident assistants (RAs) in addition to work-study students. This is a required live-in position in order to best facilitate processes and provide students with a healthy and productive residential community.

The Rocky Mountain College Residence Life program provides a residential experience for approximately 500 undergraduate students in four residence halls. The residence life staff is comprised of three residence directors, 21 resident assistants, and the Director of Residence Life. This position reports directly to the Director of Residence Life. 

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and two or more years of progressively responsible experience in residence life or higher education is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to community and student development; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; have working knowledge of computer applications such as CampusVue and Microsoft Office; and be able to understand and operate all electronic assessments and applications used in student life.
