Wes Keller Named Women’s Basketball Coach at Rocky Mountain College
BILLINGS, Mar. 23 – Rocky Mountain College announced today that Wes Keller has been named the next head women’s basketball coach at Rocky Mountain College. Keller has spent the past eight seasons with the RMC men’s team, five as the men’s assistant basketball coach and the past three as the associate head coach.
“Wes is someone who has played a significant role in the building of our men’s program. He is familiar with our coaches, staff, and the team,” said Athletic Director Robert Beers. “I am excited for him and the future of the program.”
Keller saw the men’s team to three national tournaments, a national championship in 2009, back-to-back national tournament appearances and conference tournament championships, as well as RMC men’s basketball first Frontier Conference regular season championship in 20 years.
“I am thankful and excited to work with the young women in our program,” Keller said. His strategy will focus on four core ideas of commitment, communication, care, and work ethic, both on and off the court.
“Rocky Mountain College is an outstanding institution; I’ve been here for eight years and I love it here – I’ve been treated really well here,” Keller said. “When this opportunity arose I had to go for it.”
Keller, a 1996 graduate of Helena High School, was an all-state basketball player. He played collegiately at Miles Community College and UM-Western, where he earned all-conference status. Keller began his coaching career at UM-Western and later coached at Miles Community College.
Keller and his wife, Carie, are the proud parents of twins Hayden and Tucker.
