Rocktivities, the student activities department on campus, is devoted to creating, organizing and implementing events for the student body. Rocktivities employs 15 RMC students, working in three student-led teams, providing at least one activity a week free of charge and planning special events such as the Pep Fest, Powder Puff Football and the Soap Box Derby during Homecoming week.

Some of the department’s most successful events include:

  • Pizza and Bowling (provided at least twice a semester free of charge);
  • Student and Staff/Faculty Talent Shows;
  • Concerts on the Green;
  • Neon Roller Skating;
  • Annual Halloween Costume Ball.

The Rocktivities Student Lounge was created this year, and houses a flat screen TV, movies, a Wii and comfortable seating for chatting with friends, studying or the occasional nap. Students have a chance to interact with members of Rocktivities and meet student leaders on campus. The lounge opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays and is open for reservations only on the weekends. Students may reserve the lounge for meetings, movie nights or game nights.

The lounge and offices are located in the basement of the Student Center across the hall from the Chapel. Contact Cara Lohrenz, the director of student activities, for information on specific programs or working with Rocktivities, to request an event or to reserve the Rocktivities Student Lounge. Her office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information about Rocktivities can be found on the RMC activities calendar or the Rocktivities Facebook page.

Rocktivities hopes to create programs that you want to experience. That said, please feel free to rate the latest Rocktivities event.
