Megan Poulette is a professor of natural resource and environmental management and botany at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT.

After a stint in commercial horticulture, Megan earned her MS in Plant and Soil Science at the University of Kentucky, with a focus on the use of precision agriculture in corn production.  For her PhD, she moved into the ecological sphere and studied the variable nature of the relationship between native and invasive plant species and their relationship with ecosystem processes.       

Research and Outreach

1. Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Environments (GLORIA) - part of a world-wide network of alpine monitoring sites measuring changes in plant biodiversity and alpine ecosystems.   
2. Montana Urban and Community Forestry Association - assist with urban forestry needs assessment, workforce development, and community outreach.
3. Community-Serving Nursery Project with ArbNet and the Chicago Region Tree Initiative (Morton Arboretum) - focused on U.S. Nursery inventory, tree selection and workforce development.
4. RMC Greenhouse - students help grow free vegetables and native grasses and forbs that we distribute to the community every spring.
