Adjunct Faculty Position in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing

Rocky Mountain College invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to teach Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote sensing for the 2024-25 academic year. This is a non-tenure track position for two semesters, with the possibility for renewal. The fall 2024 semester need is one Introductory GIS course with a lab, and the spring 2025 semester need is for a more advanced follow up course in Remote Sensing with some field applications and possible (UAS integration). The successful candidate will ideally have an M.S. or Ph.D. in geography, computer science, environmental science, hydrology, forestry, geology, aviation, ecology, or other related fields. Additional candidates will be considered if they have a Bachelor’s Degree with 2-4 years’ experience with GIS-related software applications (such as. ArcGIS Pro, free GIS software, digital storytelling, mapping, integration of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems), or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to teach GIS techniques. A proficiency with a range of GIS software (including ArcGIS Pro), including other remote sensing applications would be ideal. The successful candidate will support and carry out the mission of the college as well as demonstrate a commitment to developing and enhancing a culture of rigor, excellence, and achievement. The start date is August 1, 2024; classes start on August 19, 2024. The salary range for both semesters begins at $6,500, and is commensurate with experience.
