Admission Requirements
The Master of Educational Leadership and Superintendent Preparation Programs are intended to accelerate individuals of great character and leadership to higher roles in their community. For admission into these programs, the requirements are as follows.

Master of Educational Leadership
Candidates who satisfy the following requirements are eligible for admission to the program:

  • -An undergraduate degree
  • -Three or more years of teaching experience
  • -Licensed to teach in their state of residence
  • -Able to procure recommendations from leadership at their institution
  • -A desire to persist through a rigorous, accelerated program and make a difference in their community


Superintendent Preparation Program
Candidates who satisfy the following requirements are eligible for admission to the program:

  • -A graduate degree
  • -Licensed as a Principal in their state of residence
  • -Able to procure recommendations from leadership in their community
  • -A desire to persist through a rigorous program and make a difference in their community

Admission Process
To apply for the Master of Educational Leadership or Superintendent Preparation Program, please complete the online graduate application and submit the following supporting materials:

  • -Resume or Curriculum Vitae 
  • -Active Teaching License
  • -Principal’s License (for Superintendent Prep Program only)
  • -Three (3) Letters of Recommendation including two from colleagues and one from a principal or other upper level education administrator
  • -Professional Writing Sample
  • -Unofficial Transcripts from all previously attended Colleges/Universities
  • -Proof of two Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Vaccinations

Upon submission of the application and supporting materials, the admissions committee may decide to extend the candidate the opportunity to interview for a seat in their desired program. Admissions interviews are 15-30 minutes in total. After a thorough review, decisions are issued following a candidate’s interview. 

If a candidate is admitted to the Master of Educational Leadership Program, they must submit a $750 deposit to reserve their seat and begin the enrollment process. The $750 enrollment deposit will be credited to the student’s first semester tuition bill. If a candidate is admitted to the Superintendent Preparation Program, no enrollment deposit is required, only written confirmation of their enrollment in the program.

Admission Deadlines
Rocky Mountain College’s Master of Educational Leadership and Superintendent Preparation Programs maintain a rolling admissions policy. Seats in the incoming cohort or classes can fill at any time during the application cycle.

Applications must be submitted for review by the 15th day of the month prior to the program start date. For the Master of Educational Leadership and Superintendent Preparation Programs with a Fall start, the application deadline is July 15th for a start date in early August. For the Superintendent Preparation Program’s Spring start in January, the application deadline is December 15th.

Tuition & Fees

Students can elect to pay the semester’s tuition and fees in full at registration or may sign up for a payment plan through the college. Financial aid is available to those who qualify via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Master of Educational Leadership Program
The Master of Educational Leadership Program consists of 34 credits over an 11-month period. Direct costs such as tuition and fees are billed on a semesterly basis.

Upon admission, candidates for the Master of Educational Leadership Program will need to submit a $750 new student enrollment deposit to reserve their seat in the program. This enrollment deposit is nonrefundable, and will be credited towards the student’s first semester tuition bill. 

Superintendent Preparation Program
Depending on prior coursework, the Superintendent Preparation Program can consist of 12-18 total credits to earn an Endorsement. Direct costs are billed semesterly based on the number of credits enrolled and any applicable fees.
