Dr. Schreffler teaches classes in the music theory, music history, and ethnomusicology curriculum. She holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her research focuses on aspects of belonging and identity in musical contexts. She has published and presented research at international conferences on a wide range of topics, including creating inclusive curricula, music and mental health, instruments used in religious and spiritual contexts, and factors that motivate participation in musical ensembles. 

In addition to her teaching at Rocky, Dr. Schreffler has over a decade of experience teaching both performance and academic musics in the secondary schools.
