Inaugural Rural Health Research Symposium

On January 27, 2020, the Occupational Therapy department held the inaugural Rural Health Research Symposium. RMC OTD students showcased their research, which includes diverse topics such as vocational rehabilitation in the women’s prison system, Parkinson’s disease and boxing as an occupational means for therapy, as well as sensory exploration in NICU babies, among others. In addition to student posters, four guest speakers presented on the topic of rural healthcare and its needs, demands, and how occupational therapy is beneficial to meeting those needs and demands.
