Adjunct Faculty Position in Geographic Information Systems {GIS} and Remote Sensing

Rocky Mountain College invites applications for an in-person adjunct faculty member to teach Geographic Information Systems (GIS} and Remote sensing for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a non-tenure track position, with the possibility for renewal. The fall 2026 semester need is one Introductory GIS course with a lab, and the spring 2027 semester need is for a more advanced follow up course in Remote Sensing with field applications and UAS integration. The successful candidate will ideally have an M.S. or Ph.D. in geography, computer science, environmental science, hydrology, forestry, geology, aviation, ecology, or other related fields. However, candidates will be considered if they have a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 – 4 years of experience with GIS-related software applications. A proficiency with a range of GIS software (including ArcGIS Pro), including other remote sensing applications would be ideal. The successful candidate will support and carry out the mission of the college as well as demonstrate a commitment to developing and enhancing a culture of rigor, excellence, and achievement. The start date is August 1, 2026; classes start on August 17, 2026. The total salary range for the academic year begins at $6,500, and is commensurate with experience.
