Assistant Professor of Theater Arts

The Theater Arts program at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor. The successful candidate will have a completed degree (MFA or PhD) in Theater, Performance Studies or related field. The position requires a teaching.. load of 12 credits each semester (4/4), for a total of 24 credit hours per academic year. We seek candidates who can teach a broad range of courses, including the introductory course, acting and other performance courses, and various production and design courses, depending on the candidate’s area of expertise. As a small college, we value breadth of experience. Desirable areas of specialization include an emphasis on directing and producing theater in an educational environment. The candidate will also be responsible for staging one production per academic year. Candidates with liberal arts teaching experience are preferred. The successful candidate will support and carry out the mission of the college as well as demonstrate a commitment to .. developing and enhancing a culture of rigor, excellence, and achievement. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025. The salary range starts in the mid-40,000s, and is commensurate with experience.
