On behalf of Rocky Mountain College and our students, thank you for your invaluable support of the Black Tie Blue Jeans Scholarship Benefit. Since 1987, this event has brought together our community in a unique and meaningful way, ensuring that RMC students receive essential scholarship funding to pursue their education.

A Tradition Rooted in Community

What began as the “Rocky Mountain Roundup” in 1987—a grassroots fundraiser supported by local ranchers and cattlemen—has grown into one of RMC’s most cherished annual traditions. In those early days, ranchers who couldn’t offer cash gave what they had: calves and steers. With RMC’s official registered brand, RMR, these donated livestock were branded, judged, and sold at auction, raising funds for scholarships. As the event evolved, the Western spirit of those early days stayed strong, adopting the theme of Black Tie Blue Jeans in 1990. Today, attendees bid in silent and live auctions on a diverse range of donated items, with every dollar going toward student scholarships.
