Prevention and Education
In compliance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act (“SCHA”) and the College’s Hazing Policy, Rocky Mountain College is committed to implementing comprehensive education and prevention strategies aimed at reducing the occurrence of hazing. These initiatives ensure that students, advisors, faculty, and staff are informed, trained, and held accountable.
1. Student Educational Programming
All students at Rocky Mountain College are required to complete one or both of the following online hazing prevention courses during their first semester, depending on their participation in College activities. These courses are delivered through Vector Solutions, our primary training platform.
In addition to the online course, the Be Well RMC program will host at least four hazing prevention programs each academic year. Sample topics may include:
Hazing Awareness and Prevention for Students
Hazing is a dangerous ritual taking place at institutions and organizations across the country. While certain activities that groups and clubs use to initiate members may seem innocuous, oftentimes these behaviors can escalate, creating harassing and sometimes violent and deadly criminal acts. This course gives students a better understanding about hazing so that they can identify when it’s happening and possibly prevent incidents in the future.
Hazing Awareness and Prevention for Athletes

While certain activities that teams use to initiate rookies or even current team members may seem innocuous, oftentimes these behaviors can escalate, creating harassing and sometimes violent and deadly criminal acts. This course gives students a better understanding of hazing so that they can identify when it’s happening and possibly prevent incidents in the future.

- Promoting safe and inclusive team-building practices.
4. Policy Distribution
Rocky Mountain College will distribute the official Hazing Policy to all students, faculty, and staff annually.
