Rocky Student Nat’aani HoldsTheEnemy Selected for Prestigious TRIO Future Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C.

Nat’aani Shawnee HoldsTheEnemy was recently selected to attend the TRIO Future Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C., this coming April. She is currently part of the TRIO SAS Leadership Scholars program at Rocky Mountain College and is majoring in political science with a double minor in pre-law and theatre arts. Nat’aani is one of only thirty students in the nation selected to attend the summit.

This opportunity will allow her to participate in advocacy and public policy meetings while learning from various Senators and Representatives about the importance of public service. She is pursuing this experience because of its strong emphasis on advocacy, hoping to gain the necessary tools to address challenges faced by Tribal Nations, particularly those related to life on reservations.

Nat’aani is eager to bring pressing issues to Capitol Hill to advocate for meaningful change for Native communities. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to continue her education in law.
